Иван: Привет! Меня зовут Иван. Сегодня обычный день. Я дома. Моя подруга Аня тоже у меня дома. Мы сидим в большой комнате. На улице идёт дождь, поэтому мы не гуляем в парке.
(Ivan: Hi! My name is Ivan. Today is an ordinary day. I am at home. My friend Anya is also at my home. We are sitting in the big room. It’s raining outside, so we are not walking in the park.)

Иван: Мне немного скучно. Я смотрю на стол. На столе лежит бумага. У меня появляется идея!
(Ivan: I’m a little bored. I look at the table. There is paper on the table. I have an idea!)

Иван: «Аня, давай играть?» — говорю я.
(Ivan: “Anya, shall we play?” I say.)

Аня: «Играть во что?» — спрашивает Аня.
(Anya: “Play what?” asks Anya.)

Иван: «Давай делать бумажные самолёты!» — говорю я с улыбкой.
(Ivan: “Let’s make paper planes!” I say with a smile.)

Иван: Ане нравится эта идея. Я беру синий лист бумаги. Аня берёт жёлтый лист. Мы делаем самолёты. Мой самолёт большой и синий. Самолёт Ани маленький и жёлтый. Мой кот Борис спит на диване. Он не видит наши самолёты. А кот Ани, Персик, сидит на стуле. Он смотрит очень внимательно. Его глаза большие и любопытные.
(Ivan: Anya likes this idea. I take a blue sheet of paper. Anya takes a yellow sheet. We are making planes. My plane is big and blue. Anya’s plane is small and yellow. My cat Boris is sleeping on the sofa. He doesn’t see our planes. And Anya’s cat, Persik, is sitting on a chair. He is watching very attentively. His eyes are big and curious.)

Иван: «Готова? У нас соревнование», — говорю я. «Чей самолёт летит дальше?»
(Ivan: “Ready? We have a competition,” I say. “Whose plane flies farther?”)

Аня: «Да, я готова!» — отвечает Аня.
(Anya: “Yes, I’m ready!” answers Anya.)

Иван: Первый я. Я бросаю мой синий самолёт. Он летит… и сразу падает на пол. Ой. Он летит не очень хорошо. Аня смеётся.
(Ivan: I’m first. I throw my blue plane. It flies… and immediately falls to the floor. Oops. It doesn’t fly very well. Anya laughs.)

Иван: Теперь очередь Ани. Она бросает свой жёлтый самолёт. Он летит очень хорошо! Он летит быстро и далеко. Он летит через всю комнату.
(Ivan: Now it’s Anya’s turn. She throws her yellow plane. It flies very well! It flies fast and far. It flies across the whole room.)

Аня: «Ура! Я выигрываю!» — кричит Аня.
(Anya: “Hooray! I’m winning!” shouts Anya.)

Иван: Но вдруг… Персик прыгает со стула! Прыг! Он ловит жёлтый самолёт в воздухе! Теперь у Персика в зубах жёлтый самолёт. Он очень гордый.
(Ivan: But suddenly… Persik jumps from the chair! Jump! He catches the yellow plane in mid-air! Now Persik has the yellow plane in his teeth. He is very proud.)

Иван: Мы с Аней смотрим на кота. А потом мы начинаем громко смеяться. Это очень смешно. Мой кот Борис открывает один глаз, смотрит на нас и снова засыпает.
(Ivan: Anya and I look at the cat. And then we start to laugh loudly. This is very funny. My cat Boris opens one eye, looks at us, and falls asleep again.)

Иван: «Кажется, у нас новый победитель», — говорю я.
