Ivan: Он был похож на большой серый камень. Я начал рисовать.
(Ivan: He looked like a big gray rock. I started to draw.)

Ivan: Мой рисунок был… просто серый круг. Очень скучный рисунок.

Ivan: Вдруг кто-то позвонил в дверь. Это была моя подруга Аня.
(Ivan: Suddenly, someone rang the doorbell. It was my friend Anya.)

Anya: Привет, Иван! Что ты делаешь?

Ivan: Привет, Аня! Я художник. Я рисую портрет Бориса.

Ivan: Персик был с Аней. Персик — рыжий и очень умный кот. Он не ленивый, как Борис. Он очень активный.
(Ivan: Persik was with Anya. Persik is a ginger and very smart cat. He isn’t lazy like Boris. He is very active.)

Ivan: Он начал бегать по комнате. Потом он прыгнул на стол. Потом на стул.
(Ivan: He started running around the room. Then he jumped on the table. Then on the chair.)

Ivan: Я пытался его нарисовать, но он был слишком быстрый. На моей бумаге были только быстрые линии.
(Ivan: I tried to draw him, but he was too fast. On my paper, there were only fast lines.)

Ivan: Это было похоже не на кота, а на спагетти. «Это невозможно», — сказал я.
(Ivan: It looked not like a cat, but like spaghetti. “This is impossible,” I said.)

Anya: Аня улыбнулась. «Подожди», — сказала она.
(Anya: Anya smiled. “Wait,” she said.)

Anya: У неё в кармане была маленькая игрушка — мышка. Она положила игрушку на подоконник.

Ivan: Я взял новый лист бумаги и начал рисовать. Я нарисовал его рыжую шерсть, его большие зелёные глаза и его длинный хвост.
(Ivan: I took a new sheet of paper and started to draw. I drew his ginger fur, his big green eyes, and his long tail.)

Ivan: Рисунок получился очень хороший! «Аня, смотри!» — сказал я.
(Ivan: The drawing turned out very good! “Anya, look!” I said.)

Anya: Аня посмотрела и сказала: «Иван, это прекрасно! Ты настоящий художник!»
